“Paranoia Infrastructure” is an essay written for the zine Dark Matters, which has recently been added to the archives at the MoMA Library. The zine is a collective project of the critical theory and technology class for the Fall 2019 term. Sharing a namesake with Simone Brown’s Dark Matters: On the Surveillance of Blackness, this zine sought accountability to our mutual histories, taking critical focus on identity, visibility, opacity, obfuscation, and automation, and how one reckons with the contention of heir own body in public and private.
